    The Book Thief---文字侍奉灵魂

          死神(马克斯·苏萨克)以第一人称讲述了一个经历二战的小女孩,如何藉由阅读的力量,度过人生最艰困的时期。在这段艰苦的岁月中,她从一本《掘墓工人手册》开始,进入了文字的奇妙世界,通过偷书,读书,熬过了现实的苦难,也帮助了周围同样承受苦难的人。她亲眼目睹了战争的残酷并忍受着失去亲人及朋友的痛苦,用干净的文字侍奉纯洁的灵魂,而让死神为之感动。故事的背景是二战中的德国,从作者的讲述中我们从社会的最底层了解了更多属于那个时代的东西。人性中既有光明的一面,却又充斥着邪恶,所谓人性的升华并非在朝夕之间,作者细腻却又平实的文字一直在诉说着这样一个真理。这边是“万岁,希特勒”的纳粹领袖,那边是一直流浪的犹太小伙,一场残酷VS顽强的战斗,却都无法决定自己的命运。也许,只有文字,才能改变你的生命。
